About

Hey! I’m Elliott (the guy on the bike). As an ex-international athlete turned triathlon enthusiast, I wanted somewhere to share the tips, tricks and expertise I’ve picked up over the years with like-minded triathletes (or soon-to-be-triathletes).

So here we are.

I’ve often been the one to ask: should I ride harder up a climb? How’s best to get back into training after a break? What does the 10% rule actually mean for running?

And this is where they get answered. Because sharing this kind of knowledge is what sportsmanship is all about.

Anyway, here’s a little more about me…

I’ve never been one to sit still. And exercise has always been my go-to outlet. So much so it became my whole life at one point.

I spent 12 years training and competing in the canoe slalom, with 5 of those as a professional for the Irish senior team. I was even ranked in the UK’s top 20. So I understand the time, discipline and both physical and mental strength it takes to achieve these things.

I also understand the lulls in motivation, the fatigue and the frustration of when an injury holds you back. And how to turn those lows into highs.

These days I just paddle recreationally, but I’ve challenged myself to take on a triathlon. Because training for three sports instead of one seemed like a good idea at the time!

So wherever you are in your journey, I hope you’ll join me on my blog to talk about all things gear, training and nutrition and become a better triathlete.
